Artist's Comments

finally it's finished. I called it Apocalypse - reminds me of a disaster movie.

The painting measures 123 x 123 cm and is made out of 939 wine corks which I glued on a piece of marine plywood and painted it with several liters of blue acrylic paint.

Then I let white paint run between the various columns of corks.

The effect is very cool - it looks different from every angle and is definitely very different from any other piece of art I have seen so far.

thanks, happy that you like it. It was quiet a lot of work indeed but the painting of the corks took even more time. Must have used nearly 2 liters of acrylic paint on it.
